Obituary for Mark J. McKinley

Mark J.  McKinley
Mark McKinley passed away suddenly in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital on February 15, 2018 at the age of 64. Longtime resident of Oak Valley, New Jersey, he was a Navy veteran from 1972 to 1975 and was stationed on the destroyer ship USS Claude Ricketts DDG-5. He continued to serve his country as a Quality Assurance Specialist with the Defense Contract Management Agency in Philadelphia, PA and retired after years of federal service. A member of the American Legion Post in Fort Laudon, PA, he was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time at the White Oaks Sportsman Club. He was a loving, generous, and devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Survived by daughter Kristen McKinley; brother of Cathy Fach, Elizabeth Bauer (John), and Gary McKinley; affectionately known as Pop Pop to granddaughter Eva; treasured uncle to many; cherished companion to dog Gus and the late Jake and also survived by his other brothers from his fishing club family. Predeceased by parents Carl and Shirley McKinley and brother Brian. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him.

Friends and family may pay their respects at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Mantua, NJ. Viewing on Tues., Feb 20th from 6:00pm – 8:00pm and on Wed., Feb 21st 10:00am – 11:00am with service to follow. Internment will be at the Orbisonia Cemetery, Rockhill, Pa. following services at Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association.
