Obituary for Anna L. Peoples

Anna L. Peoples age 95, of Bear, DE passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022. Born in Manhattan, NY to the late Angelo Leonardi and Concetta (nee Spina), she was an orphan at the age of twelve years old. She moved to Swedesboro, to live with her uncle and spent summers in upstate NY with her cousins. Anna was also a resident of Paulsboro, Gibbstown, and settled in Pitman in 1972. She was a Home Health Aide for VHS (Visiting Health Services) for over 20 years. Anna was also a member of Pitman Church of Christ which is now Pitman Road Church. At church she was a member of the Sacred Sisters, helped with Wednesday night meal preparation, and assisted with many church functions. Anna also attended many funerals with her Pastor to help console and support families who lost a loved one. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, cooking, and gardening. Her family said she was a "helper". She would help anyone and do anything for someone in need.

Wife of the late Anthony Catalano & Frank Peoples, she is survived by her daughters, Toni Harlin and her husband Barry of Bear, DE, and Janice Oliver of Woodbury; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Douglas Oliver and brothers, Paul & Sam Leonardi.

Family and Friends may visit from 11 am to 12 pm on MONDAY January 31st at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, NJ where a funeral service will be held at 12 pm. Burial will follow at Eglington Cemetery in Clarksboro, NJ. As an expression of sympathy, contributions can be made to the Pitman Road Church Capital Fund, 500 Pitman Road, Sewell, NJ 08080.
