Obituary for Bertha R. "Bert" Willis

Bertha R. Willis (nee Reese) 89, of Cape May Court House, N.J., passed away peacefully at home on October 18th. “Bert” was a long time resident of both Wenonah and Woodbury, NJ. She was a graduate of Haddonfield H.S. and attended school in West Virginia and became an L.P.N. Bert was an active member in her community; teaching Sunday school and volunteering in the Woman’s Auxiliary at Underwood Memorial Hospital. Her many hobbies included knitting, cross stitching, sewing, gardening, fishing, playing bridge, and cooking family meals. Bert also volunteered for the Red Cross and received Distinguishing Honors for her 10 years of dedication. Later in life, she gained a passion for golf and was a member of both Wildwood and Woodbury golf clubs where she received numerous golf tournament trophies.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years, Frank M. Willis, son, Frank D. Willis, and daughter, Patricia R. Zalkin. She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Noddin; four grandchildren, Richard Rollins Jr., Raymond Rollins, Kenneth Noddin, Joseph Noddin; four great-grandchildren, Sophie, Chase, Colette and Nolan Rollins; and many nephews and nieces. Family and friends are invited to visit from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Saturday, October 27th, at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Mantua, NJ 08051. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Wenonah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to JDRF (Type 1 Diabetes) South Jersey Chapter 1415 Rt. 70E Suite 311 Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
