Obituary for Byron L. Stetser

Byron L. Stetser, age 90, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2015 in Clarksboro. Born in Woodbury. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received many metals and ribbons, including the Purple Heart. Byron was a supervisor at Mobile Oil Refinery and retired in 1986. He also worked for Munyan Fuel Company, McGough Bus Company, and drove a taxi cab. He enjoyed bowling, camping and square dancing in his younger years. Byron was a member of the Masons in Port Elizabeth. He also was a member and attended Faith Bible Church in Thorofare, NJ.

Husband of the late Mary Linda (nee Green), he is survived by his children, Evelyn Donnelly & her husband Harry of Deptford, Merrill Stetser & his wife Dottie of Paulsboro, Diane Eidell of Pennsauken, Joan Strouse & her husband Bill of Wenonah, Lois Jenkins of West Deptford, Barry Jenkins of FL; 11 grandchildren, Michele, Lisa, Matthew, Lori, Kelly, Jennifer, Lindsay, Eric, Aimee, Jason, & Camilla, and 18 great grandchildren. Bryon was predeceased by his brothers, Edwin & Lynn Stetser, and sisters, Helen Peters & Anna Gregg.

Family & friends may visit from 9 to 10:30 AM Saturday, October 24th, at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, where a funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM. Burial with military honors will follow at Eglington Cemetery in Clarksboro. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Faith Bible Church, PO Box 163, Thorofare, NJ 08086.
