Obituary

Carole Grier (nee Fox) age 82, departed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 6, 2020 at her home in Glassboro where she resided for 40 years. Carole was born on January 4,1938 in Woodbury, NJ to Mary and Edward Fox. She graduated from Glassboro High School in 1956. Carole was a retired postal worker from the Bellmawr Post Office. She was the wife of the late Eugene Grier and is survived by her children, Diana (Fred) Grasso, Cindy (Robert) Edwards, Irene Bozorth, Peg (Ben) Winston, Jackie (Dave) Benson. She leaves behind 13 grandchildren Michael (Stefania), Liz (Dan), Jenn, Katelyn, Kristen (Marty), Benjamin, Emily, Amara, Shayna (Mike), Kiah, Ilana, Josiah and the late Terry Bozorth, as well as, her 7 great grandchildren Victoria, Layla, Dylan, Michael, Brandon, Cairo, and Finn. She is predeceased by her brother Jack and survived by her sisters Cathy (Bill) Noakes and Mary Ellen McAteer and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carole was a caring, and selfless person who loved helping others. With her devotion to God, family, and friends she would help anyone in need. She had a strong, feisty personality that went along with her fighting Irish spirit, never afraid to jump to the defense others, especially her family. She had a beautiful smile that would light up the room and a laugh that could put anyone at ease. She loved to give hope to others with her favorite quote, “It’s a great life if you don’t weaken!”

Carole loved to be surrounded by family. Whether spending time at her favorite vacation spot, the Jersey Shore, playing kangaroo rummy, having a “Mug-Up”, or sneaking sweets, she always brought joy to her family and friends. Carole had a passion for crocheting afghans, sewing, and watching her favorite show Investigation ID. She loved to collect porcelain dolls, angels, and anything Irish. She had the opportunity to experience her dream trip to Ireland. Carole leaves a legacy to every life that she has touched with her heart of gold and wise advice. As the “Rose” of the family, she stressed to always take the time to smell the flowers because it is the little things in life that matter the most.

Services will be private at this time with a Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life to be announced in the future. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your favorite charity in Carole’s honor. Memories and condolences can be shared at smithfhmantua.com
