Obituary for Charles S. "Chic" Cowles
Charles S. Cowles age 84, of Wenonah passed Monday, October 30, 2023. Charles (known fondly as "Chic") retired from Mobil Research where he worked as the Chief Graphic Artist. He enjoyed over two decades as a dedicated member of the Wenonah Fire Co., was a devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan, enjoyed tinkering with cars, and using his skills as a graphic artist.
He and Jack Hart formed a short-lived company called "The Old Farts Construction Company".
Charles is survived by his loving wife Mary Jean Cowles (nee Cronk), his children Lynne D. Carey, and Charles John Cowles. Also, by his grandchildren Alyssa Lynne Carey, Breanna Carey, Evan Cowles, Paul Carey, Jeremy Cowles, Julia Carey and great grandchildren Bowen Derico and Stevie Lynne Derico, as well as many friends and extended family.
Family and Friends are invited to visit from 10:00am to 12:00pm on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street Mantua, New Jersey 08051. Memorial Service will be held at 12:00, with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Hurffville, NJ. Donations in his honor can be made to Wenonah Fire Company, PO Box 127, Wenonah, NJ 08090.
