Charles W. Delaney age 92, of Mantua passed Tuesday, June 6, 2023. Born in Southwest Philadelphia to the late William and Mary (Fleming), Charles married Margaret Forster on June 25, 1955. In 1957 they settled in Mantua, NJ where they raised three daughters.

Charles was a veteran of the United States Army, after graduating St Joseph’s College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration he spent his working years in the Insurance industry. Starting in sales and retiring many years later as a Vice President with Merchants Insurance. He enjoyed spending his free time reading, traveling, tracking his genealogy, and time with his family.

Charles is survived by his children Mary Delaney-Seher (William Peter), Peggy Soucek (Frank), Susan Combs. Grandchildren Jamie Delp (Roy), Catherine Schwander (Matt), Alyson Soucek, Brendan Delaney Combs, Daniel Delaney Combs and great grandchildren Maggie, RJ, and Charlie Delp; Delaney and Becca Schwander; and Lillian Soucek. His sisters Patricia Albert and Betty Kyle (Phil), sister-in-law Joan Forster, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his loving wife Margaret, his brothers John and Bill Delaney, as well as by multiple in-laws from his wife's family and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law from his family.

Family and Friends are invited to visit from 9:30 am to 10:45 am on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Church of The Incarnation 240 Main Street Mantua, New Jersey 08051. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 10, 2023. Burial and Military Honors to follow at Gloucester County Veterans Cemetery in Monroe Township, NJ 08094.
