Obituary for Clara M. Costello (Moegele)

Clara M. Costello age 96, of Mullica Hill formerly of Wenonah passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022. Born in Philadelphia to the late Frederick and Clara Moegele (Leinhos), she was a graduate of Simon Gratz High School in Philadelphia. Clara (“Claire”) worked various jobs throughout her young life including a business clerk position for the Army Service Forces during World War II and 10 years as an Administrative Assistant at Bell Telephone in Philadelphia. She was a longtime member of the Woman's Club of Wenonah, Wenonah Historical Society and an active parishioner of the Church of the Incarnation where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Claire loved traveling with her husband and vacationed in Europe, United Kingdom, and throughout the USA. She loved antiques, sewing, quilting, and art & crafts. As a volunteer with the American Cancer Society, she visited and supported women recovering from breast cancer after being a breast cancer survivor herself.

Wife of the late Walter H. Costello, she is survived by her children, David Costello (Emilie) of Marco Island, FL, Dorothy Kreckmann (Kim) of Perryville, MD, Kenneth Costello (Cheryl) of Mullica Hill, daughter-in-law, Gail Ferguson (Kevin), seven grandchildren, Michael, Eric, Matthew, Ryan, Monika, Alison, Jake, and two great grandchildren Jaymee and Lilyth. Claire was predeceased by her son, Stephen Costello, and her brothers, Frederick, Martin, and Carl Moegele.

Family and Friends may visit from 9:30 am to 10:45 am on Friday, October 7th, at the Church of the Incarnation, 240 Main Street, Mantua, NJ 08051 where a funeral Mass will be held at 11 am. Burial will follow in Wenonah Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, contributions can be made to the Church of the Incarnation at the address above.
