Obituary for Clinton J. Welsh Sr.

Clinton J. Welsh, Sr., aged 89, of Ocean City, NJ, formerly of Barnsboro, NJ, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023. He was born in Driftwood, PA and lived a life rich in family, service, and community involvement.

Clint's journey began at North Catholic High School, where he excelled in football. After his graduation in 1951, he answered the call to serve his country, joining the US Army during the Korean War. Following his military service, he embarked on a journey of entrepreneurship, founding three successful businesses with his loving wife: Continental Beauty Salon, West Deptford Exterminating and Rapheala's Mix & Match.

Later in life, Clint transitioned into a role as a maintenance supervisor for Hahnemann Hospital in Philadelphia. He concluded his professional career at Clearview Regional High School, working in the maintenance department before his well-earned retirement. Clint's dedication to the community extended to his membership in the Barnsboro Fire Department.

In his retirement years, Clint took on a part-time job distributing beach tags in the picturesque Ocean City, New Jersey. He embraced the simple joys of life, enjoying Eagles games, collecting antiques, having yard sales and enjoying life at the shore. Above all, he cherished the moments spent with his beautiful wife, children and grandchildren, and great grandchildren eagerly attending their events and celebrations in addition to the cherished friendship of Carmel & Steve.

Clinton J. Welsh, Sr. is survived by his devoted wife, Rapheala "Rae" Welsh
(nee Centuolo), with whom he would be celebrating 65 wonderful years of marriage this November; his daughter, Deborah A. Fisher; his son, Clinton J. Welsh Jr., and daughter-in-law JoAnn. He was a doting grandfather to Chad Fisher and his wife Denise, Alex Fisher, and Justin Welsh, and he delighted in the presence of his great-grandchildren, Emma, Maya, Violet, and Brady. Clinton was preceded in death by his twin brother, Robert Welsh, and eight other siblings.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation hours from 9:30 am to 10:45 am on Saturday, October 28th, at the Catholic Community of the Holy Spirit at Holy Name of Jesus Parish Center, located at 17 Earlington Ave. Mullica Hill, New Jersey. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am, followed by a burial with Military Honors at Holy Name of Jesus Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a contribution to Turner Syndrome Society of the United States at https://www.turnersyndrome.org/memorials
