Obituary for Cynthia Lee Russell

On July 25, 2022 at the age of 67, Cynthia (Cindy) Lee Russell, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, of Elmer New Jersey, left this earth and met her Savior after a long & difficult stay at University of Penn Hospital. Her loving husband was by her side and reading her favorite Psalm as she passed. Throughout her life, Cindy battled many health struggles so while she will be missed beyond words, her family is comforted knowing that she is now pain free in her perfect heavenly body!

Cindy was born on October 30, 1954 to parents Sam and Marguerite Davenport. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Hal Russell. She also leaves behind her daughter Shawna Weinhardt, son-in-law Bobby Weinhardt, grandchildren Eliana & Makayla, brother Randy Davenport, sister in law Toniann Davenport, nieces Sophie and Celia and nephew Samuel.

Cindy will be most remembered for her unending love for & trust in Jesus, her intense love for her family and her heart to serve others. She was known for being kind, gentle and caring. She was a trusted friend, faithful prayer warrior, encouraging mentor and wise counselor to so many over the years. She truly delighted in God’s Word and clung to it in both good times and bad.

She had a great appreciation for God’s creation, and was especially fond of the lilac bushes in her yard and the birds that she kept well fed. She was a wonderful cook who thoroughly enjoyed being in the kitchen. There was never a lack of good food when she was around! In so many ways, she was the best wife & mother one could ask for. Her grandchildren were one of her greatest joys and they were blessed beyond measure to call her “Nana”. Her family will cherish their memories of her.

Donations in her name can be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 9:00am - 11:00am on Saturday, August 6th at Fellowship Bible Church, 590 Jackson Rd, Sewell, NJ 08080. A celebration of her life will follow at 11:00am.
