Obituary for Donald Emerson Floyd Jr.

Donald E. Floyd Jr. age 68, of Mantua, NJ passed away Friday, January 22, 2021 at Jefferson Hospital at Washington Township. Don was born in Bryn Mawr, PA and grew up in Oreland, PA. He graduated from Springfield Township High School and eventually moved to Mantua Township NJ. He spent his career as a professional truck driver employed first with Erdner Brothers, then with Mobil and their eventual parent companies up to PT Petro. Outside of work, he was a member of the Mantua Volunteer Fire Company (Now the Mantua Township Fire and EMS Museum) for 45 years. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, occasionally going fishing, discussing the weather and the best directions when travelling, and spending time at the fire hall. He was a big fan of and loved watching the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles.
Donald is survived by son- Donald E. Floyd lll and his wife Kirstin, daughter- Sarah Floyd, sister- Linda Buck, and niece- Amanda Buck, Sister-in-law- Penny Floyd (Bruce), nephew- Bryan Floyd and his wife Nicole, niece- Brenda Floyd. Predeceased by his parents Edith & Donald Floyd Sr., 2 brothers Barry L. Floyd & Bruce Kent Floyd.
A luncheon to remember Don is planned to be held at the Mantua Township Fire and EMS Museum, 42 Main St., Mantua Township, NJ 08051 at 1 pm Saturday, February 6, 2021.
