Obituary for Dorothy Irene Rowe

Dorothy Irene Rowe (nee King) age 79, loving wife and devoted mother passed away on Saturday, October 5th, 2019. She was born in Charleston West Virginia but lived the better part of the last 60 years in Gloucester County NJ. Irene spent most of her adult life helping others in one capacity or another for multiple nonprofit organizations. She loved volunteering but also made time for her family along with her favorite hobbies of attending garage sales and working outside in her yard. Her proudest accomplishment, other than her children, was being a member of the Mantua Township Community Ambulance and seeing the completion and dedication of a new home for her squad. She began in 1975 doing fund raising for the Barnsboro Ambulance and went on to complete her EMT and then become an active member of the squad. She retired after many years of service as their Captain in 2006. Her dedication and personal sacrifice for her community was one of the many accomplishments that her family is most proud of.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband Robert Lewis Rowe, her children Tammy Rowe, Pamela Rowe Vanmatre, Bonnie Rowe Dankanich and her husband Martin, Robert Rowe Jr., Grandchildren Latisha Galvan Vreeland and her husband Jason, Geddy Rowe Galvan, Raymond Travis Vanmatre Jr. and fiancé Alyssa Duley, Miranda Massey, Michael Rowe and wife Eriko, Matthew Dankanich, Zachary Dankanich, Great grandchildren Chase Vreeland, Quinn Vreeland, Reece Vreeland, Alexander Rowe, her sister Opal Flores and her husband Milo, along with multiple nieces and nephews and cousins.
