Obituary for Eleanor M. Semora (Wilson)

Eleanor M (Wilson) Semora, 88 of Woodbury, formerly of Gibbstown, passed away Friday, January 17, 2020. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas, Eleanor was the beloved wife of the late Oscar Semora Jr, and beloved mother of 6 children; Susan Semora of Suffolk VA, Debra Ogbin (Robert) of Pittsgrove, Barbara Montague of Little Rock AR, Linda Morrow of Sherwood AR, Wayne Semora of Orlando FL, Lisa Higgins (Robert) of Media PA. Eleanor is survived by her 6 children, 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Barbara Semora of Sherwood Arkansas, and brother-in-law Raymond Semora (Chris) of Homer, Michigan.

In her lifetime, she had been active in the Senior Citizens Club of Gibbstown, The Business and Professional Women’s Club of Gloucester County, and served as state scholarship chair for several years for the NJBPW. Eleanor had been active in the Girl Scout organization for over 20 years and served as a Girl Scout Leader. She retired from government service at Philadelphia Naval Station.

Eleanor pursued her education over many years and proudly graduated from Gloucester County College in 1998 at the age of 66, achieving that lifetime goal, alongside one of her granddaughters. She was artistically talented, and sang like an angel. “Ellie” was a kind, good-hearted woman with a gentle soul, who was loved by all who knew her and she will be sorely missed.

Family and Friends are invited to visit from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, NJ 08051. Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 pm.
