Obituary for Elizabeth A. Stott (Covaleskie)

Elizabeth A. Stott age 73, of “Sewell” Mantua Twp., NJ passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023.  She was born in Philadelphia to the late William J. Covaleskie and Anna J. (nee Kilfeather).  Elizabeth married her late husband Carl Voorhees Stott Sr. in 1969. She worked in the bookkeeping department for Cigna in Philadelphia. Elizabeth was a true fighter while battling MS for 44 years. Although she was sick for most of her life, Elizabeth lived her life to the fullest and it was unusual to ever hear her complain. Elizabeth genuinely enjoyed people and would greet them with a warm smile. She always enjoyed being engaged in the company of others. She enjoyed listening to music, was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies, and loved spending time with her grand dogs, Mindy and Diesel and grand cats, Coal and Tandy.

Elizabeth was a devoted Catholic all of her life and she maintained her devotion throughout her many years of illness. She looked forward to having the Eucharistic minister,Ginny, come each week to visit and give her Holy Communion. Through this time of ministry, they developed a close friendship.

Elizabeth had several caregivers over the years along with her youngest son and daughter-in-law.  One of the caregivers, Doris, was a true godsend. Elizabeth was so thankful to have her and always thanked God for bringing her into her life. She was by Elizabeth's side for the past 10 years and the two had a very special bond. Doris was always willing to drop whatever she was doing and be available to help her.

Elizabeth is survived by her two sons, Carl Voorhees Stott, Jr. (Rachel) and Andrew Jason Stott (Alaina), two brothers, William G. Covaleskie (Kathleen) and Francis "Frank" Covaleskie (Patricia).  She was predeceased by her sister, Maryanne Baxton & her husband Edwin.
