Obituary for Frank M. Willis

Frank M. Willis age 89, of Cape May Court House passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. A long time resident of Wenonah, NJ, Frank was born in Philadelphia, a graduate of Haddonfield H.S. and a mechanical engineer graduate from Drexel University. He was a US Army WWII veteran. He worked at DuPont as a Senior Engineer until his retirement in 1985. At that time, he continued working as a consultant until 2011. One of his many accomplishments includes being awarded 33 patents and he still has one pending.

Frank enjoyed fishing, golf, photography, woodworking, and was a member of the Memorial Presbyterian Church choir. He was also a great storyteller, these were known as “Frank’s Stories”. But his greatest enjoyment of all was adoring his “beautiful”, “very photogenic”, and “wonderful” wife and family.

He was the loving husband for 67 years of Bertha (Reese) Willis, the girl who picked HIS shoe!! He is also survived by a daughter Phyllis Noddin, 4 grandchildren Richard Rollins Jr., Raymond Rollins, Kenneth Noddin, Joseph Noddin, 4 great grandchildren Sophie, Chase, Colette, & Nolan Rollins. Sister-in-law, Kathy Reese, nephews Bill Wallace, Don Green, John Reese, Bill Reese, Daniel Reese, Steve Reese, Jim Reese, and Joe Wagner. (“Everybody should have an Uncle Frank”) Predeceased by son Frank D. Willis and daughter Patricia R. Zalkin. Family and Friends are invited to visit from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Saturday, March 26th, at Smith Funeral Home 47 Main Street Mantua, NJ 08051. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am. Burial with military honors to follow at Wenonah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to JDRF South Jersey Chapter 1415 Rt.70E Suite 311 Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
