Obituary for George J. Passalacqua

George J. Passalacqua age 84, of Deptford Twp. "Oak Valley" passed away at home on Friday, September 13, 2019. He was born in Philadelphia to the late Giuseppe Passalacqua and Magdalena (Scherra). George served in the US Army and retired from working at Continental Insurance Company. He was a Four for Four Philadelphia Sports Fan and his favorite past times were trips to the casinos, playing poker, horses races and watching football. He loved his family and adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren. George enjoyed telling jokes and would sing at weddings and serenade the bride and groom. One of his greatest accomplishments was having the opportunity to donate one of his kidneys to his daughter.

He is survived by his children, Joe Passalaqua and his wife Margie of Hainesport, and Carmel Hopkins and her husband Mark of Oak Valley; 8 grandchildren, Nicole (Matt), Christina (Ken), Maria (Dan), Renee, Laura (Bryan), Amanda, Michael (Rachel), Joseph; 11 great grandchildren with another on the way; and his brother, Frank Passalaqua. George was predeceased by his siblings, Silvia, Anna, Rosalie, John and Rita.

Family and Friends may visit from 9 am to 11 am on Tuesday, September 17th, at Infant Jesus Parish At St. Margaret's Church, 845 Third Street, Woodbury Heights, NJ where a funeral Mass will be held at 11 am. Military Honors will follow Mass and interment will be private.
