Obituary for George C. Rowe

George C. Rowe age 91, of Wenonah passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Thorofare, he served in the Army and was a Staff Sgt. with the 34th Infantry Division Red Bulls during WWII. George worked for Socony Mobil in Paulsboro, was a Reserve Police Officer in Wenonah for 14 years, and was a member of the Wenonah Lions Club for over 55 years. He enjoyed working with his hands and helping others.

Husband of the late Constance "Connie" Rowe (nee Spissell), he is survived by his son, Kevin Mark Rowe, his daughter-in-law, Andrea Rowe (nee Layton), his grandson, Jesse David Rowe, and his sister, Emma Trumbull. George was predeceased by his brother, James J. Rowe, and his sister, Catherine Ledden.

Family & friends may visit with the family from 10 to 11 AM Friday, January 15th, at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, where a memorial service will be held at 11 AM. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Gloucester County Veterans Cemetery in Monroe Township.
