Obituary for Geraldine Joy Bresler
Geraldine Joy Bresler "Gerry" age 83, of Mickleton passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022. Born in Paulsboro to the late Carl A. Bresler and Lydia (nee Schober), she graduated from Swedesboro High School. Gerry went on to Wheaton College, graduating with the centennial class of 1960. Returning to NJ, Gerry completed an MS in Library Science at Drexel, and found a job as an Armed Services Librarian in Germany. Gerry later had a secure position at the Trenton State College Library, retiring after 25 years to care for her parents. Gerry was a member of Westerly Road Church of Princeton and later Southwood Baptist Church. In her earliest years, Gerry's family read the Bible together, setting a lifelong habit.
Gerry enjoyed the outdoors and knew many birds and trees and plant varieties. She enjoyed traveling to many places in the USA, returning to visit Germany and going to Africa with another adventuresome cousin. Gerry enjoyed scrapbooking, knitting and always reading. She volunteered at her church library and at the County Library. Gerry loved and encouraged everyone she knew, telling them about her hope in the Lord Jesus.
She is survived by several cousins and their families. Besides being predeceased by her parents, Gerry was also predeceased by her brother Robbie Bresler.
Family and Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 9 am on Saturday, December 10th at Southwood Baptist Church, 11 Griscom Lane, Woodbury, NJ 08096.
