Obituary for Hedwig J. "Hattie" Nehlig

Hedwig J. "Hattie"  Nehlig
Hedwig “Hattie” Nehlig (nee Hinman) of Mantua, NJ passed away on December 23, 2020. Born December 5, 1918, she was the daughter of Walter and Hedwig Hinman of Paulsboro, NJ. Following the death of her husband George Miller, she remained home in Paulsboro, NJ to raise her children. In 1967, she married John Nehlig and moved to South Harrison Township where they lived for over twenty years. It was at this time that she worked for Aetna Insurance Company from which she retired. John predeceased her and then she relocated to Mantua, NJ.
Hattie is survived by her children G. Raymond Miller (Margaret) of Colorado Springs. CO, F. Russell Miller (Nancy) of The Villages, FL and Kathleen Centuolo of Summerfield, FL as well as her grandchildren Suzanne Quentin, Russell Miller (Lynn), Joanne Miller, Steven Miller (Machelle), Preston Centuolo, Kathleen Nisivoccia (Gus) and Allison Rimland (Daniel). She was predeceased by her brothers Walter Hinman and Russell Hinman as well as her sisters Eva Miller, Madeline Woodard and Lucinda Hinkson. Hattie is survived by fourteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Hattie enjoyed get-togethers with family as well as playing pinochle and games. She and John also had many memorable experiences traveling in their motor home.
Due to the pandemic, there will be a graveside service at 11:00 am at the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church Cemetery 17 Earlington Ave. Mullica Hill, NJ on January 2, 2021. There will be a memorial mass to be held at a future time at the Church of the Incarnation, 240 Main St. Mantua, NJ 08051. In lieu of flowers, donations in Hattie’s name can be sent to St.Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
