Obituary for Jacob M. Costroff

The Costroff family is heartbroken to inform the South Jersey/Philadelphia community that their son, Jake, has passed away at the age of 27.  Jacob was born on November 24, 1995 at Stratford Hospital to Susan and Thomas Costroff.  Jake graduated Woodbury High School with the class of 2017 and went on to form Zorn, a metal/punk band with members, Eric, Nao Nao, Evan, and Ande.  Jacob was a talented musician, a great friend to many and was a kindhearted and thoughtful individual. In addition to having a unique ear for creating music, his passions included painting, abstract movies, thrifting, cafes, and simply walking in the woods. As a boy, Jake loved sports, played soccer, Yu-Gi-Oh and enjoyed skateboarding.  He was well loved by his community and is survived by his five siblings, Robin, Ben, Emylie, Kylar, Chris; his girlfriend, Marisa; and his boyhood friends, Jarrett, Eric, and Luke.  The Costroff family has registered a GoFundMe at https://www.gofundme.com/f/jake-costroff-memorial for donations toward Jacob’s memorial service.

Jake is also survived by his maternal grandmother, April Callodonato; aunts and uncles, Susan Pantaleo (Mike), William Costroff (Jessica), Joanne Strange (Wayne), Lorraine Wagner (Mike), Joseph Costroff (Teresa), Gloria Simoni (Lenny), Andrew Costroff (Kim), Pauline Stanton (Greg), Nancy Soper; his niece, Lily Costroff; and many cousins.  He was also survived by two special cousins, Joseph Soper and Anna Pantaleo.  He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Joseph Callodonato; paternal grandparents, Walter & Barbara Costroff; his baby brother, Thomas Costroff; his aunt, Barbara Costroff and his uncle, Walter Costroff.

Family and Friends may visit from 9 am to 12 pm on Tuesday, October 17th, at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua NJ where a funeral service will be held at 12 pm.  Burial will follow in Wenonah Cemetery.  Memories and condolences can be shared at www.smithfhmantua.com.
