Obituary for James J. Franklin

James J. Franklin age 60, of "Oak Valley" Deptford Twp. passed away on Thursday evening March 24, 2022. Born in Upper Darby to the late Robert Franklin and Loretta (nee Puliti), he lived in Glenolden, PA before moving to Deptford. He graduated from Deptford High School Class of 1979 and played football under Gloucester County Hall of Fame Coach Joe Corbi with an undefeated championship season. He was a cabinet maker/production manager for 35 years in the millwork industry including at Tabor Acoustical Inc. In 2014 he developed his own distribution company JJF Distributors LLC mastering the distribution of pastry working with Bon Appetit Global Inc. Jim was always a positive & encouraging person no matter what the situation was and could always make someone laugh with his witty personality. He always made time helping family and friends with his knowledge and expertise. Jim loved family events, especially the 4th of July celebrations with family in the Catskill Mountains in Jewett, NY.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie (nee Bradley), two daughters, Sarah Franklin of Southampton, PA, Michelle DiLauro & her husband Christopher of Wenonah, his son, James Franklin, Jr., Wenonah, NJ, siblings, Loretta Houghton & her husband William, Robert Franklin, Jr., Teresa Elmer & her husband Joseph, William Franklin & his wife Brenda, Richard Franklin and Daniel Franklin and several nieces & nephews. Jim was predeceased by his in-laws, George and Miriam Bradley.

Family and Friends may visit from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Monday, March 28, 2022 at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, where a funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm. Interment will be private in Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ.
