Obituary for James A. "Jim" Kirkbride Sr.

James A. Kirkbride Sr. age 82, of Barnsboro passed away on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at home. Born in Woodbury to the late Asher M. Kirkbride Jr. and Mae Catherine (Korman), he graduated from Pitman High School Class of 1957 and attended Dobbins Technical School. He served in the Army National Guard for six years and became a newspaper printer for the Woodbury Daily Times, which became the Gloucester County Times and is now the South Jersey Times. Jim was an active member of the Barnsboro United Methodist Church for over 60 years. His hobbies included model trains, Civil War history and histories of towns and countries.

James is survived by his wife Sandra Kirkbride (nee Elliott); sons James A. Kirkbride Jr. and his wife Penny of Glassboro, E. Scott Kirkbride and his wife Heather of Loganville, Georgia; 4 grandchildren Cassandra L. Griffin and her husband James, Melissa M. Kirkbride, Timothy S. Kirkbride, Katherine E. Kirkbride; 2 great grandchildren, Abigail and Madelyn Griffin; and sister Barbara M. Fackelman and her husband Daniel of Barnsboro.

Family and Friends may visit from 9:30 am to 11 am on Friday, May 28th, at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, NJ where funeral services will be held at 11 am followed by a private burial.
