Obituary for James B. Logan

James B. Logan age 92, of Wenonah, NJ passed away Monday, December 7th, 2020 in Cape May County, NJ. James was born & raised in Philadelphia, to John and Anne Logan (nee O’Neil); caring brother of 4 predeceased sisters, Nancy Logan, Joan Romaniello, Patsy Fischer & Eileen McGuire. Jim was a graduate of West Catholic High School and Saint Joseph’s College. Jim served in the US Army during the Korean War, and was Post Commander of the Wenonah American Legion Post 192 for some time. Jim and his wife Mary have been residents of Wenonah since 1976 and a summer resident of Sea Isle City since 1985. He retired from Mobil Oil Corp. in Paulsboro as an accountant for over 25 years. He loved spending time with friends and family, was an avid fan of the Philadelphia sports teams, and enjoyed golfing, reading and his time at the shore throughout the year with his family. He could often be found with Mary on their front porch in Sea Isle sitting & talking with neighbors, friends and passers-by.

Loving and devoted husband to the love of his life Mary Frances Logan (nee Carr) for over 58 years, and proud father of 2 surviving sons, James and Jack Logan. Jim was a caring father-in-law to Jack’s wife Lori (nee Reick), and adored his wonderful granddaughter, Carly Logan.

Due to current Covid-19 conditions a brief and socially distant visit will be available from 9:30 am to 10:30 am on Monday, December 14th, 2020 at Smith Funeral Home, Mantua, NJ. Please respect and follow all current CDC guidelines and instructions (including mask wearing and limited indoor gatherings) throughout the day. The Logan family would like to convey their complete understanding of anyone that can’t attend out of concern for the current Covid situation for both themselves and any and all family members. They want everyone to be safe and healthy above all else and will plan a Memorial to honor the life of Jim Logan at a future date when we can gather safely.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, at Church of Incarnation 240 Main St. Mantua. Burial with Military Honors to follow at Gloucester County Veterans Cemetery in Monroe Township, NJ 08094.
