Reverend James Patterson of Mantua-Age 95
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Thursday, April 5, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Bessie Patterson. Loving father of Jim (Gerri), Bill, and Esther Patterson. Proud Pop-Pop of ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. James was born in Atlantic City, on May 10th,1922. He served in the United States Army during World War II, and was stationed in Normandy. As an evangelist, he shared his love for the Lord through his music, as he played various instruments such as the banjo, guitar, steel guitar, and harmonica. He ministered the Word as he visited many churches, hospitals, as well as nursing homes. His greatest passion was helping others to come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. He loved to make everyone around him laugh, as he was known for playful pranks. Pop, you will be deeply missed and always remembered with a smile! Relatives and friends are invited to attend his services to celebrate his life on Saturday, April 14th 2018 with the viewing between 10-11AM, and services to follow at 11AM, here at Smith Funeral Home 47 Main Street Mantua, NJ 08051.
