James W. White age 79, of Cherry Hill passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2020. Born in Philadelphia, he lived in Camden for almost 30 before moving to Gloucester County for many years. He served in the US Army and was an ironworker for Local 399. Jim loved riding motorcycles and was a member of the United States Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed puzzles, always had a ton of stories to tell and loved watching Jeopardy when he wasn't watching MSNBC. Jim was an avid reader and would read five newspapers each day of the week. He loved his family and adored his grandchildren. Each grandchild was his favorite and would often take them canoeing at what they called, "Hidden Lake."
He is survived by his wife, Donna Contravo; children, James C. White (Miriam) and Lucille Hunt; grandchildren, Kristine White (Kamren), James D. White (Jenny), Nicolle White (Nicole), Stephanie Hodgson (Dominic), Briana Macklin (Zachary), Johnathan White, Tanajah White and Erica White; great grandchildren, Alexis White (Lexi), Dyllon Hoskins, Gionna Hoskins, Aaron Tuck, Graydin Powell-Smith, Salvatore Galati-White (Baby Sal) and foster grandkids, Ayden and Natalia Cunningham; sisters Cathy Beppell-Bruno and Mary Jane Stonerock; and brother Gerald Beppel. He was predeceased by his sister, Loretta Hyson and brother, Charles White.
Family and Friends may visit from 4 pm to 6 pm on Monday, January 27th, at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, NJ where a Time of Sharing will be held at 6 pm. Interment will be private. As an expression of sympathy, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
