Obituary for John Bruce Bufala

John Bruce Bufala age 78, passed away April 2, 2021 on his 55th wedding anniversary. Born to Charles and Ethel Bernice (née Barndt). Bruce was raised in Audubon, NJ, and graduated from Audubon High School. He was proudly retired from the US Military, serving in the Navy during Vietnam. He was a wonderful cook and baker and enjoyed playing Santa over the years. On April 2, 1966 he married the love of his life, Emilia “Lanie” (née Daguhoy ) in the Philippines. They lived in many places in the US before settling in their home in Gloucester City, NJ for the past 20 years.

He is survived by his beloved wife Lanie, brother Bob Bufala of Sewell, sister Bernice “Barbara” Wisner of Gloucester City, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Rex Bufala, sister, Anne Bufala, sister-in-law, Judy Bufala and his dear nephews Scott and Keith Wisner.

Family and Friends are invited to visit from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, April 7th at Smith Funeral Home 47 Main Street Mantua, NJ 08051. Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 pm. A private burial will be held at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown, NJ.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516 or to Angelic Hospice, donations.angelic.health. The Bufala family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Jefferson Rehab for their kindness and availability to us, during this difficult time, and acknowledge the kindness and support from everyone at Angelic Hospice, you were all a blessing.
