Obituary for Joseph Hunter Simpson, Jr.

Joseph Hunter Simpson, Jr. age 76 of Barnsboro, NJ died Saturday, March 15, 2008 at home surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Washington, DC, he was a resident of Gloucester County since 1962. He worked for Mosler Safe Company for 46 years from 1949-1995. After a distinguished career, he retired as Regional Manager of the Mid-Atlantic District after opening branch offices in various states on the east coast and Ohio. He was renowned and respected for his expertise in the Safe/Vault Security business. After retirement, he enjoyed yard sales, auctions, fishing and hunting, his family, and his dog 'Bella'. He was recognized in various local dining establishments for his unique suspenders and his sense of humor.

Husband of Louise (nee Rochester), he is also survived by his children: Janet Thurston and her husband Joe of Pitman, Nancy Brown and her husband Hal of Mullica Hill, Pamela Hagenberg and her husband Tom of Barnsboro & Sandy Simpson of Vineland; grandchildren Greg & Christopher Thurston, Erin Brown, Molly Sadlowski and Michael Brown; great grandchildren Hunter & Marlee Thurston, Elizabeth Brown, Olivia & Leah Sadlowski, Caleigh Brown and Brody Thurston.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family 9:30-11 AM Wednesday at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main St. Mantua, NJ where funeral services will be held at 11 AM.
