Mrs. Linda Casto, Transitional First Grade Teacher in Mantua Township
Dear Doug, Lisa and Jamie, I wish I had the words to comfort you. I was shocked when I heard the news because it was not long ago when I had sent your Mom a get well card explaining to her that I was hospitalized here in Florida for a blood clot in my lung and an SVT, Supraventrical Tachychardia. I spent 4 days in the hospital until the doctors figured out why I had a SVT and the blood clot. I thought your Mom was getting well. I kept your mom in my daily prayers for a speedy recovery. I am so sorry for your loss. Your Mom was such a special person. She was an inspiration to us in Mantua Township! I know she was a dedicated teacher, loving her students so very much and always there for any of us who needed help in our classroom. She would give good advice and would be a good listener when we needed an ear to listen. Your Mom will be very missed! When in the Teacher's room we heard all about her wonderful girls......you, Lisa and Jamie! I felt I knew both of you because of how much your Mom talked about you two and loved you two so very much! Doug, you and Judy were the perfect couple! You both shared a Love of a lifetime. I pray you three will be comforted and at peace through the love and care of family and friends. You three will remain in my thoughts and prayers and may the beautiful memories you three shared with your Mother and Wife help you through this difficult time. With sincere sympathy and love, Linda Casto, T-1st Retired teacher

As I sit and remember Judy. I think of all the memories we had. She was always there for me when I needed to vent about my personal problems. She was my school mom . She always made me feel better when I left her room. In return I always let her vent about Getting Shirley to stop working. Lol. Rest in peace Mrs.Gerner.

I will truly miss my dear friend. Judy and I shared many good times and even some that were not so good. She always had a kind and encouraging word to help in any situation. Breathe easily now, dear friend.

Judy Gerner was one of the most delightful, pleasant people I have ever had the privilege of knowing. I remember that every time I would see her, she was always happy to see me. She would always be the first one in the stands to stand up for me if the other side was being rude to me at the softball games! Her heart was so big and you could feel her love for even those who weren't her own. I call myself fortunate to be able to carry even a small piece of her with me in my life as an educator, a parent, a friend, and as a kind person to all. Thank you for your life and being willing to share it with so many, Mrs. Gerner.

Judy and I have been friends from the 7th grade. Even though our lives got busy at times , when got together we just picked up from where we were. I will miss playing word with friends with her and our lunch dates.
