Kenneth Lewis Green, 81, of Mantua Township, passed on July 3, 2016 at Shady Lane Home, Clarksboro. Ken was born on February 24, 1935 in Barnsboro and raised in Mullica Hill. Before moving back to Barnsboro into the home he built, he lived in Glassboro where he graduated from Glassboro High in 1953. He served in the US Army 1958-1960 with overseas duty in Germany. He retired from Mobil Research in Paulsboro with 33 years service, served as Chairman of the Mantua Township Planning Board for 20 yrs without missing one meeting, served on the Zoning Board, was Treasurer for the Mantua MUA for 12 years and was a member of the Economic Development Committee. Ken was lead singer in his band, The Blue Notes, for 23 years. Ken enjoyed many years of boating, fishing, crabbing and car racing. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Lois Ware Green, daughter Diane (Matthew) Juhring, of Mullica Hill, daughter Donna Hanahan, of Mantua, grandchildren; Trevor (Lori) Juhring, Dillion Hanahan, Luke Juhring, Jill Juhring, Cheyenne Hanahan, and great grandson Dane Juhring.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, July 11th at SMITH FUNERAL HOME 47 Main Street, Mantua, NJ 08051, where friends and family may visit from 9:00 am until 11:00am. Military honors and committal service will follow at the Gloucester County Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown. In lieu of flowers and in honor of Ken's struggle with Aphasia, memorial donations may be made to the Moss Rehab Aphasia Center, Office of Development, Braemer Building, 5501 Old York Road, Philadelphia, PA 19141-3098.
