Kenneth B. Welsh age 72, of Deptford Twp. formerly of Bergenfield, passed away at his residence on Saturday, March 5, 2022. Born in New York City to the late Robert Welsh and Virginia (nee Noseworthy), he graduated from Bergenfield High School Class of 1967. Ken was a Police Officer for Bergenfield PD for 25 years where he served as a patrolman and a detective. He was active as a coach with Bergenfield Youth Football & Clearview Youth Football. Most of all he loved being a grandfather. He enjoyed playing cards with his grandkids and was often seen at the athletic fields in town watching them at their many sporting activities. He was always up for having a conversation while he was picking up or dropping off his grandkids from school. He was an amazing "Pop" to his grandkids.

He is survived by his children, Ken Welsh, Jr. & his wife Amy, Jon Welsh & his wife Janet, three grandchildren, Jack, Elle, & Jace Welsh, and his sister, Virginia Exposito & her husband Robert.

Family and Friends may visit from 2 pm to 6 pm on Friday, March 11th, at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, NJ. Interment will be private.
