Obituary for Marc Jurgen Aart Nagtegaal

Marc Jurgen Aart Nagtegaal "Wooden Shoes" "Dutchman" age 75, of South Harrison formerly of Levittown, PA passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. He was born in Baarn, Netherlands to the late Frederik Nagtegaal and Egberdine DeRoer. Marc retired from Amtrak where he was a signal maintainer and foreman. In his younger years, he made copper pots in the Netherlands, he enjoyed flying model airplanes, coaching soccer in Levittown, off-roading in his Subaru Brat, and drag racing his Oldsmobile W31. Marc loved camping with his family, worked at Camping Conventions and was an editor for Capital Newsletter. He was a member of the South Harrison Democratic Club, past chairperson for zoning and planning board in South Harrison, past advisory board member for Gloucester County Senior Services, past president of the Gloucester County Senior President's Clubs, and past volunteer of Gloucester County Nutrition Site 6 in Paulsboro. Marc loved golf and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and NASCAR Fan. He also enjoyed model trains and playing a train game on his computer.

Marc is survived by his wife Wilma (nee Mihalko), two children, Marc Thomas Nagtegaal & his wife Stacie, and Joanne Elizabeth Guarrera & her husband Richard, Opa to his four grandchildren, Amber Nagtegaal, Chelsea Guarrera, Jacob Guarrera, and Marc Nagtegaal, his sister, Patricia Beck & her husband Gregory, one brother & his wife, and his aunt, Mabel Oliver. Preceded in death by brother, Frederik Nagtegaal and uncle, Fred Oliver.

Family and Friends may visit from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Mantua United Methodist Church, 201 Mantua Blvd., Mantua where a memorial service will be held at 11:00 am. Interment will be private. Memories and condolences can be shared at www.smithfhmantua.com
