Mary C. Heppard (Platt) age 83, of Mantua passed away peacefully on October 19, 2015 at Friends Village in Woodstown. Mary worked at East Greenwich Township as a Construction Clerk for over 40 years. Mary was a longtime resident of Mickleton until 1985, when she and her husband moved to a retirement community in Mantua. Mary continued to work and was an avid baker, making many treats for her co-workers. Anyone who knew her, was well aware that she was a huge animal lover, but especially fond of cats. She took in many strays over the years and had "cat themed" everything!
Predeceased by her husband Walter Heppard, she is survived by her children Walter "Jack" (Rose) Heppard, Jr. of Westminster CO, Deborah McNabb of Hudson, Massachusetts, Peggy (Tim) Powell of Mickleton, also survived by her grandchildren Robert McNabb and Jonathan (Tasha) McNabb, great grandchild, Eden McNabb, brothers Raymond Platt, Claude Platt, Jr., and sister Marie Deitrich. Family and Friends are invited to visit from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, October 27th, at Smith Funeral Home 47 Main Street Mantua, NJ 08051. Interment to be private.
