Mary LaPlante age 68 of “Oak Valley” Deptford Twp. passed away on May 30, 2021 at home after an extended illness. Born in Camden, NJ she was the daughter to the late Eric and Mary (Tavener) Legge. Mary graduated from Deptford High School Class of 1971 and passed her NJ Cosmetology Board Exam that same year. After raising her children, she worked in the health care industry as a Trauma Medical Insurance Coordinator. Mary enjoyed watching true crime & mystery murder shows and tv programs that involved animals. She enjoyed past trips to the mountains, knew all the words to all the Beatles songs, and growing up in Gloucester City were some of her happiest times.

Mary was survived by her beloved husband of 47 years Larry LaPlante, two daughters, Jennifer Richards (husband Matt) of Mullica Hill & Jaclyn Nowak of West Deptford, four grandchildren, Alexis & Connor Richards, and Joshua & Cheyenne Nowak, her sister, Patricia Elenbark, and three brothers, John Legge (wife Kitty), Rick Legge & Ken Legge. She was predeceased by her sister, Jean Doyle.

Relatives and Friends may visit from 9:30 am to 11 am on Friday, June 4th, at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, NJ. A funeral service will be held at 11 am and burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Hurffville, NJ.
