Obituary for Mary Smalley

Mary Smalley
Mary Smalley age 77, passed peacefully Monday, April 20th, 2020 at Cardinal Village Assisted Living, formerly of Wenonah, NJ for many years. Mary was a retired Physician’s Assistant serving the community of the Philadelphia Geriatric Center throughout her career. Mary loved the beach, knitting, and travelling. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. So many hours of her later life were spent sitting on the floor playing with her grandchildren, or cheering them on at sporting events. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Mary cherished a close relationship with God, worshipping at the Church of the Incarnation in Mantua for over thirty years.

Mary was the daughter of Robert and Mary Newmiller (nee Kolenkiewicz). She was predeceased by her husband of 32 years, Walter, and is survived by her brother Robert Newmiller. Mary will also be missed by her sons, Walter, (wife Stephanie, children Kayla and Walker), and Robert (wife Deborah, children Jack and Lydia.) Mary is also survived by many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A private Funeral Service will be held with entombment to follow at Eglington Mausoleum in Clarksboro, NJ 08020. A future memorial service will be announced to family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s honor can be made to the Breathing Room Foundation (Jenkintown, PA), The Alzheimer’s Association, or the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA).
