Obituary for Mary B. Zupko (Wallace)

Mary B.  Zupko (Wallace)
Mary B. Zupko (Wallace) age 78, of Wenonah passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019 surrounded by her family. Born to the late Patrick J. Wallace and Catherine (Carey), she was a graduate of St. Joseph's High School in Brooklyn, NY and St. Catherine's Hospital School of Nursing. Mary worked as a pediatric nurse at both Mountainside Hospital, Montclair, NJ and Kennedy Hospital (Jefferson), Washington Township. For 25 years she worked as a private nurse for ophthalmologist Dr. Thomas Rozanski, MD. After retirement, Mary worked as a volunteer for Underwood Hospital (Inspira) for the Same Day Surgery Unit. Mary enjoyed traveling with her husband, time spent at their home in Ocean City, NJ, and treasured her loving family, especially her 10 grandchildren. As a parishioner of the Church of the Incarnation for almost 50 years, Mary volunteered as a CCD teacher and head of the parish pantry. She was a talented seamstress and also enjoyed hand-work such as counted cross stitch and quilting.

Wife of John M. Zupko, Jr. of 56 years, she is survived by their four children, daughter Christine and husband Brian Toal, children Kyle and Kelsea; daughter Jean and husband Robert Knapp, children Sarah, Patrick, and Megan; son Peter, children Iaian, Karac, and Logan; son Stephen and wife Colleen, children Caelyn, Eren, Joseph, Brendon, and Halie and her daughter Marni. Mary is also survived by her twin sister Joan McDougall.

Family and Friends may visit from 6 PM to 8 PM on Thursday, June 20th, at Smith Funeral Home 47 Main Street, Mantua, NJ and 9:30 am to 10:45 am Friday, June 21st at the Church of the Incarnation, 240 Main Street, Mantua, NJ followed by a funeral Mass at 11 am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691 or National Arthritis Foundation, 1355 Peachtree Street NE, Suite 600, Atlanta, GA 30309.
