Obituary for Michael Salvatore Mealey
Michael Salvatore Mealey, age 28, from West Deptford passed away on Friday, March 3rd, 2023.
Michael was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, and cousin. He passed away with his loving and devoted parents, John and Denise by his side.
Michael was from Oak Valley before moving to West Deptford. He attended LARC School for many years where he was cared for by a staff of dedicated and warm-hearted individuals. Michael was also lovingly cared for by Sandy Phillips for his entire life.
Michael was a gift from God and the center of our hearts and our entire family. Though Michael couldn’t speak, his big brown eyes, gentle smile and affectionate cooing sounds will echo in our home and hearts forever. Our family parties and Christmas holidays will not be the same without him there to pick the winners of his parents’ fun holiday raffles, which is a memory that we will keep in our hearts forever: “Michael picks the winner!”
Michael is survived by his parents John and Denise, brother John Salvatore Mealey (Kristin), sisters Kelli Heidler (Chris) and Kristi Mealey (Larry), niece Lilly Panek, nephew Aidan Heidler, grandfather Gabe Salvatore.
Michael is also survived by aunts and uncles Stacie Hess (Wade), Alan Hoke, Sue Mikolajaczak (Dan), Mary Mealey LeFever, Pat Hodorowicz (Andy), Larry Mealey (Kathy) and Jackie Haraksin (Frank), as well as dozens of aunts, uncles and cousins who all adored him. Michael was predeceased by loving grandparents Loretta Salvatore, Marie Wilmot, Phyllis D'Alessandro and Lawrence Mealey. He was also predeceased by Uncle James Mealey and Aunt Lisa Hoke.
