Obituary for Monica T. Nestor (Lukas)

Nestor, Monica T. [nee Lukas], age 96, of Sewell, NJ, on Monday, August 20, 2018, after a short illness, passed from this life at Jefferson Kennedy Hospital, Washington Twp, with her daughter and son by her side. She was predeceased by her husband of many years, Paul Nestor. Monica was born May 26, 1922 in Philadelphia to Vincent and Monica Lukas, was a graduate of John W. Hallahan Catholic HS for Girls, and was employed by PSFS for many years at the Broad and Chestnut location until retiring in 1984. She loved to dance, and a favorite memory was going to the USO dances in Atlantic City during WWII. She enjoyed travel, bingo, and Wii bowling. She always loved dining out and parties -- especially when they served 'Cosmos'! She was a life-long Catholic, most recently attending Holy Family Church in Sewell, Monica was a wonderful mother, a friend, and enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by daughter Barbara McCann [the late Fred Steiner], Sewell, and son Paul L. Nestor [Kathy Jones-Nestor], Philadelphia, Grandchildren Danielle Nestor [fiancee Nicole Scalamandre], Samantha Nestor [husband Andrew Haneiko] and David Nestor [Melanie], three Great Grandchildren, Franklin, Olive and Arlo, and one sister, Fran Lukas of Jennersville, PA. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Paul Nestor and sister Helen Goebel. She is also survived by loving niece Joanne Bonner, nephew Vincent Gobel, and many family members and friends. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018, 11 AM at Church of the Holy Family 226 Hurffville Road, Sewell, NJ 08080. Committal following at the Gloucester County Veterans Cemetery in Williamstown, NJ.
