Patricia Ryan (nee Johnson) age 82, born and raised in Wenonah NJ, passed peacefully Saturday, July 13, 2023.

Patricia graduated from Boston University. While working in Boston she met and fell in love with Thomas Ryan, a widower, and his 4 children. They married and had a daughter.

After they divorced Patricia began working for The State of California Employment Development Department in job services - helping people to find jobs, file for unemployment benefits and take job-training classes.  She loved working for EDD because she got to help people. She retired after serving the people of the State of California for over 30 years.

She loved all animals, especially strays, adopting many over her lifetime. She loved bingo, sports cars, was a hopeful but not successful gardener, and had a very sweet tooth.

She will be missed by her family and friends.

Family and Friends are invited to visit from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Smith Funeral Home 47 Main Street Mantua, New Jersey 08051. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm, with burial to follow at Wenonah Cemetery in Mantua, NJ 08051.
