Obituary for Patricia J. Walsh

Walsh, Patricia Joan (née Adams), 83, of Gibbstown, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 6, 2023. Pat, as she was affectionately known, was born in Camden, NJ, on March 5, 1940, to the late William and Helen Adams (née Hulfish).

Pat was raised in Williamstown, NJ, and graduated from Glassboro High School in 1959.

As a teenager, Pat loved to cut a rug on American Bandstand and listen to football and boxing on the radio with her father. Pat had a strong affinity for people, which motivated her to pursue a career in nursing. Pat earned her RN at Gloucester County Community College and worked as an ICU nurse at Underwood Memorial Hospital for thirty-six years before retiring in 2006.

Pat was a talented artist, creating many beautiful oil pieces, pen and ink renderings, and watercolors.  Additionally, Pat was a passionate U.S. Civil War enthusiast and amassed many artifacts and books. She frequently visited the battlefields at Gettysburg.  Above all, Pat was a diehard Philadelphia Eagles fan and never missed watching a game since the 1955 season.

Pat was beautiful, jovial, and vivacious. She vehemently adored people and treated everyone she encountered as a family member.  Her personality was infectious, and her wit and humor would brighten anyone’s day. Pat left an indelible mark on this world, and she will be greatly missed.

Pat is predeceased by her husband, James Walsh, and brother William Adams. She is survived by the love of her life, Zofia Kulick; her daughters Patricia Taylor (Lonnie), Donna LaManna (Vincent), Amy Bullock Loving (George), and son James Walsh (Sylvia); her grandchildren Nick Taylor (Tara), Randy Taylor (Caitlin), Lonnie Taylor (Shannon), Alysha Taylor (Gabby), Courtney LaManna (Matt), Alyssa Darrah (Robert), Anthony Walsh, and Jimmy Walsh; her great-grandchildren LJ Taylor, Giovanni Pellegrino, Kellan Taylor, George Loving, Giuliana Darrah, Vincent Darrah, Kendrick Taylor, and Keagan Centra-Taylor; and the tons of friends that she made over the years.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2023, from 5 pm to 7 pm with a service to begin at 7 pm at the Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua, NJ. Visitors are encouraged to wear Philadelphia Eagles attire. Memories and condolences can be shared at www.smithfhmantua.com.
