Obituary for Pete Peters

H. "Pete" Peters, age 88 of Deptford Twp., NJ passed away on April 16, 2013 at home. Born in Woodbury, Pete graduated from high school under the US government's program for the Civilian Conservation Corps. He also attended Drexel University specializing in institutional and industrial management and completed all of the Dale Carnegie courses and trained with Prudential Life Insurance Company. Pete had a wide range of work experiences that included, Mobil Oil Corporation projects, the sales management team for Robert A. Budd in the development of Greenfield Village in West Deptford Twp., A.C. Schultes & Sons well drilling and Prudential Insurance Company where he was a 1 million-dollar producer. He was a member of the American Cancer Society's Tri-County Board of Managers and was involved in charities including; Boys Scouts of America, American Red Cross, and the March of Dimes Financing Team. Pete served two terms on City of Woodbury Council and was appointed as the Executive Director of the Gloucester County Utilities Authority and the Gloucester County Board of Taxation.

Loving husband of Jane S. (nee Sparks), he is survived by his children, Bruce W. Peters of NY and Jane DeGirolamo and her husband Lew of West Deptford, NJ 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Pete was predeceased by his children Carol A. Adams and John "Jack" Redmond.

Relatives and friends may visit with the family 2 to 4 PM Friday, April 19 at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Mantua, NJ where funeral services will be held at 4 PM. Interment will be private.
