Obituary for Philip L. Jackson Sr.

Philip L.  Jackson Sr.
Philip Lawrence Jackson, Sr., age 63 of Oak Valley, Deptford Twp., NJ died Wednesday, March 13, 2013. An outdoorsman, Phil enjoyed hunting and fly fishing. He was a graduate of Deptford High School where he participated in track and field and once held the school record for the pole vault. He also enjoyed dancing and was a ‘collector’. During the Vietnam era he served in the US Army and he worked for Campbell Soup for the past 5 years.

Husband of the late Patricia R. (nee Quigley), he is survived by his son: Philip L. Jackson, Jr. and his wife Nancy; his daughter: Dawn Veasey; grandchildren: Stephen Jones, James & Vanessa Veasey and Trey & Xander Jackson; sister: Lonnie Chafardon; and brothers: Lawrence, Richard, David, Matthew & Joseph Jackson.

Relatives and friends may visit with the family 7-9 pm Sunday, March 17 and 10-11 AM Monday, March 18 at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Mantua, NJ where funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday. Interment will be in Wenonah Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared at www.smithfhmantua.com.
