Obituary for Richard Alvin Hoglen Sr.

Richard “Mickey” A. Hoglen Sr. age 81, of Wenonah "Oak Valley" passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018. Born in Pilesgrove Twp. he served in the Army during the Berlin Crisis in 1961 and the Cuban Crisis in 1962. Mickey retired from Rollins Environmental in Bridgeport, and worked part time at Home Depot. He enjoyed reading, telling stories and drag racing at Atco Dragway and occasionally at Cecil County Dragway with his and his son’s car "Odds and Ends". Most of all he loved his family and adored his grandchildren and great grandson.

Mickey is survived by his wife, Kathryn J. (nee Scott), children, Richard A. Hoglen, Jr. (Barbara) of Bridgeton, Theresa Nicolai (Joseph) of Dover, DE and Lisa Hollywood (Joseph) of Deptford, six grandchildren, Joshua and Jacob (Courtney) Krause, Katie, Jessica, Rose and Gracie Hollywood, one great grandson, Lucas Krause, brother, Larry "Pete" Hoglen (Rae), and sister-in-law Barbara Hoglen and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Larvie "Toots" (Joan), Gerald “Jerry” and Robert “Bob” Hoglen.

Family and Friends may visit from 10 AM to 11 AM on Tuesday, October 2nd, at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street, Mantua where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Gloucester County Veterans Cemetery in Monroe Township, NJ 08094.
