Rita C.  Cooney
Rita C. Cooney 81 of Ewan NJ passed away peacefully at home with her husband of 56 years by her side on Friday, November 29, 2019. Born in PA to the late Edward Cummiskey and Margaret (O'Hara), she was a graduate of The Academy of Notre Dame de Namur Class of 1955 in Ridley Twp., PA. Rita retired from Pitman Manor where she was their Marketing Director. She was a member of the Catholic Community of the Holy Spirit Parish in Mullica Hill, NJ, served as their secretary and volunteered her time for various activities. Rita taught literacy in Washington Twp., NJ and enjoyed skiing in the winter months.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph J. Cooney; her children, Thomas Cooney (Mary Ellen) of Pennsville, NJ, Ronald Cooney (Kathi) of Texas, and David Cooney (Vicki) of Alloway, NJ; two grandchildren, Lauren Cooney of Florida and David Cooney, Jr. of Alloway; and her brother, Edward Cummiskey (Ann) of Oxford, PA.

Family and Friends may visit from 10 am to 11 am on Wednesday, December 4th, at Catholic Community Of The Holy Spirit At Holy Name Of Jesus Church, 17 Earlington Ave. Mullica Hill, NJ where Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am. Interment will follow at Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Monroe Twp., NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Alzheimer's Association, Delaware Valley Chapter, 399 Market St., Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
