Obituary for Robert Jewiss Platt

Robert Jewiss Platt age 94, of West Deptford passed away Thursday, May 27, 2021. Robert was a veteran of the United States Army and worked as an Electrician at Mobil Oil for 25 years before operating his own electrician business. He graduated from Paulsboro HS class of 1944, was a Member of St. Paul's United Methodist since age 3, and spent many years in the Boy Scout Explorers. While living at Lake Garrison for over 64 years, Bob enjoyed sailing and being involved in the lake's many activities. He enjoyed hosting his own annual family BBQ, visiting the Poconos, going camping, as well as spending time with family and friends.
Robert is survived by his loving wife Rosalyn (nee Schreffler) Platt, his children Diane (Joseph) Wonsetler, Brenda Toppin, Jeffrey (Cheryl) Platt, and Annette (Stephen) Barger, grandchildren Meghan, Aaron, Hilary, Kurt, Kevin, Lindsey, Jillian, Jaclyn, Jonathan, and Jennifer. Also, by seventeen great grandchildren. Predeceased by four brothers, three sisters, and granddaughter Nicole Barger.
Family and Friends are invited to visit from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Smith Funeral Home 47 Main Street Mantua, NJ 08051. Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm with burial and military honors to follow at Eglington Cemetery in Clarksboro, NJ 08020.
