Obituary for Rodman A. Hess Jr.

Rodman A.  Hess Jr.
Rodman A. Hess Jr. age 61, of Woodbury Heights passed away Sunday May 6, 2018 at home. A lifelong resident of Woodbury Heights, Rodman graduated from Gateway Regional High School in 1974. After graduating, Rod attended vocational school to become a Master Plumber before working at Colonial Pipeline for 32 years. Rod enjoyed hiking, camping, the beach, and lengthy road trips with his friends and family. Rodman is survived by his wife Barbara A. Hess (nee Murray), daughters Katherine Hess (fiance Shaun Grady) and Elizabeth Hess. He is also survived by his sister Sandra DiLeo (husband Michael), nephew Michael DiLeo, many nieces, nephews, and their families. Rodman was predeceased by his son Rodman W. Hess and niece Gracie Bolopue. Family and Friends are invited to visit from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 10th, 2018 and from 9:30 am to 11:00 am on Friday May 11th, 2018, followed by A Time for Remembering at 11am at Smith Funeral Home 47 Main Street Mantua, NJ 08051. Burial to follow at Eglington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Donations can be made to the Rodman W. Hess Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Joe Pegues 128 S. Jackson St. Woodbury NJ, 08096 and the University of Pennsylvania Patient Fund at the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania 3535 Market Street Suite 750 Philadelphia, PA 19104.
