Obituary for Ronald Wayne Brining

Ronald W. Brining

You've got to know when to hold 'em…

Ron held on to the love of his life, Paula, always standing by each other's sides for over 50 years. They met in college in 1970, married in 1976, and started a lovely family with the births of their two daughters, Elizabeth and Kathryn(Joe), creating an unbreakable bond and a lifetime of memories.

Know when to fold 'em...

Ron believed that your legacy isn't measured by how much money you made or the possessions you had, but rather whom you left behind and how they left their mark on this world. He knew when to fold his cards and let his daughters fly on their own, confident they would remember the lessons he had taught them to create fulfilling lives of their own. He saw this come to life with their marriages and the births of his three grandchildren, Erich, Everett, and Lily.

Know when to walk away…

Ron was born to Herbert and Margaret Brining and lived most of his life in Blackwood, NJ. He was raised as a faithful Catholic and was taught the importance and value of an education. Ron had a thirst for knowledge, always wanting to learn something new in order to live up to his full potential. He knew his siblings would forever be looking up to him and he did not take that lightly. He made sure that when the time came for them to walk away from the family home, they would be prepared to start their own journeys in life. He was the very much loved big brother to Donna(Len), Joan(Tom), James, Daniel(Darline), Margaret(Mike), and Colleen.

And know when to run...

Ron had many hobbies and enjoyed participating in many activities. Some of his fondest memories were the many family vacations during the summer, his favorite of all being Germany. He was involved in many community theaters and could be seen on stage throughout South Jersey. Ron was very active in Freemasonry. He was a devoted member of the Masons, the Eastern Star, the Scottish Rite, as well as many other Masonic organizations. He loved the Phillies and shared his love of baseball to anyone that would listen. Ron put his time, energy, and heart into everything he did, always running at full speed.

You never count your money
When you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin'
When the dealin's done (-Kenny Rodgers)
