Obituary for Ronald Edwin Hunsinger

Ronald Edwin Hunsinger age 87, of Wenonah, NJ passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021. Born in Woodbury to the late Frank L. Hunsinger and Sylvia F. (nee Fewkes), he graduated from Woodbury High School. Ronald served in the US Navy on the USS Missouri during the Korean War. He married the love of his life Ethel (nee Smith) in 1958 and they lived in Wenonah since 1963. Ronald worked on submarines at the Philadelphia Navy Yard and retired from Mobil Research where he was a Pipefitter. He was a member of Wenonah United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee. Ronald took great pride in painting the church and taking care of the grounds. He also attended the Spirit Life Fellowship Church in Salem, NJ and the First Church of the Nazarene in Kissimmee, FL. Ronald served the residents of Wenonah by volunteering his time to the Wenonah Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years. He loved bowling for the United Methodist Men's and the Mobil Research Bowling Leagues. Ronald formerly resided in Easton, PA, Marco Island, FL, and Poinciana, FL. He enjoyed genealogy, gardening and was handy around his house.

Ronald is survived by his wife Ethel Hunsinger, two sons, Ronald Hunsinger of Penns Grove, NJ and David Hunsinger & his partner Julia Belopolsky of Washington, DC, five grandchildren, Alexandra, Duston, Rebecca, Randy, and Deidré, three great grandchildren and cousins, Bruce & Mary Grimming. Ronald was predeceased by his sister, Virginia Ledonne.

Family and Friends may visit from 9:30 am to 11 am on Saturday, June 12th, at Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street Mantua, NJ where a funeral service will be held at 11 am. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 240 N. Tuckahoe Road, Monroe Twp., NJ. Memories and condolences can be shared at www.smithfhmantua.com.
