Obituary for Stephen J. Toner

Stephen Joseph Toner, age 74, of Mullica Hill, died peacefully at home on February 19, 2023 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Steve was born in Philadelphia, and had lived in Mullica Hill for the past 20 years.

He was the dear husband of Linda Foster Toner. Steve was predeceased by his father Joseph, mother Lillian and sister Judith. Surviving are his brothers Richard, Mark, and sisters Susan Jeffers, Margaret Watson (Tom), and Janet. Also, brother-in-law William Foster Jr. (Barbara Hann).

He was co-owner with Jim Dickinson, of Steve's Carburetor Shop for over 20 years. In his early years, Steve was a self taught builder, an avid skier, cyclist, and water sport enthusiast though his passion was sailing and racing his boat "ECLIPSE" on the Chesapeake. Through sailing, he forged many long term friendships, notably with Ed and Rick. His hobbies besides sailing were riding his motorcycle and sharing the fruits of his labor from his vegetable garden.
