Obituary for Susan Gwin (VerBryck)

Susan Gwin (nee Ver Bryck), 85 of Sewell, NJ passed away at home, in peace, surrounded by her family on Sunday July 16, 2023.



Sue was born and raised in Woodbury, NJ. She graduated from Woodbury High School in 1956, where she was active in the Friends of Animals Club. After high school, Sue worked at Camden Safe Deposit and Trust Company. She married her high school sweetheart, Howard, in 1962 and moved to Sewell to start a family. While raising her children, she worked in various part time positions: serving at the lunch counter at the Underwood Memorial Hospital, Woodbury; baking cookies in the Clearview Middle School cafeteria, Mullica Hill; assisting in the office at S.S. Pennock Company, Pennsauken and assisting at Thompson Tours, Clarksboro. 



Her great loves were reading adventure and romance novels, cooking gourmet food with vegetables from the family garden, caring for family pets, listening to Bing Crosby and enjoying classic movies. Her greatest love was family, dedicating her whole heart to become the world’s greatest mom. 



Sue is survived by her son Christopher; her daughter Patricia and son-in-law Peter; two nieces, Leslie Ver Bryck and Karla (Fred) Block. She is predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Howard; her brother, Peter and his wife, (her best pal), Harriet.



Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Monday July 24th from 10:00AM-11:00AM in the Smith Funeral Home, 47 Main Street Mantua, NJ 08051. Funeral service at 11:00AM and interment immediately following the service at Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro, NJ.
