Condolence: 30 years ago, Mr. Hedenberg gave me & my high school buddies the opportunity to work hard, save for our first cars, college... I proudly wrote on the O'Henry's job application that I was a dish washer at Ponderosa Steakhouse! I was then lucky enough to join a real "steakhouse" restaurant; where even us "bus boys" wore white-starched dress shirts with black bowties; because the likes of Reggie White & so many others regularly came through those doors. The weekend reservations/reserved tables were a given. The Sunday Brunch was legendary. This is how Mr. Hedenberg ran all of his businesses. Even as kids, we could see that Mr. Hedenberg had the knack for hiring & retaining leadership staff. Once accomplished, he moved on to his next development venture. Mr. Hedenberg, for kids who worked hard, had veal parm & steak waiting after our guests left for the evening. Chances are that probably weekly, you do business in a building Tom Hedenberg built in Washington Township. Who ever thought Delsea Drive would become a destination for so many services?! Go to PJ's. Tom built it. Parke Banks, Parke Place, Skater's Choice, Hollydell Ice Arena, Health Department, library, Board of Health, Post Office. God Speed Mr. Hedenberg. Your tireless work, philanthropy and commitment to your employees & family will not be forgotten.
